This Gibsea 96 is a family cruiser boasting 3 double cabins. These were strongly constructed boats with a quality solid wood interior and offer a good sailing performance. She has been lightly used in recent years, and benefits from many recent equipment upgrades.
The Gibsea 96 has a nice sailing performance and this example is aided by her recent conventional mainsail. Wheel steering gives a responsive feel to the helm and the cockpit is easily large enough to sleep outside on hot summer nights and has cockpit cushions.
Below decks the Volvo Penta engine is located under the companionway steps and has always been regularly serviced. A practical galley is located to starboard. There is a full sized chart table and navigation area located opposite to port. There are two double aft cabins, located either side of the companionway steps with good locker stowage. The saloon has ‘L’ shaped settees either side of the saloon table and the starboard one can be converted to a double. Both make good sea berths whilst on passage. All upholstery throughout is a recent addition The toilet and shower compartment is across the full width of the boat at the forward end of the saloon and the third double cabin is located in the forepeak area.
This Gibsea 96 is sensibly priced and benefits from lots of recent additional equipment upgrades as can be seen in her specification plus she has had her hull repainted. She makes an ideal family starter yacht.
